When do you travel out to the games?
We fly out Friday evening (23rd of March) and go straight into the village upon arrival on Sunday.
How did you find out about your selection for commonwealths and how did you feel?
I found out via email at the end of February and of course was extremely happy to have been selected! I was lucky enough to be selected for Glasgow 2014 in my last year at Hallam and by the looks of things the Gold Coast should be an incredible experience.
How did you get into your sport?
My dad played and got both me and my brother started at a pretty young age
What are you most looking forward to at Commonwealths?
It's a great opportunity for us to play against top sides that we don't normally have the opportunity to play against and to test ourselves against some of the top sides in the world at the moment. Being part of and competing as Team Wales is special as it's the only tournament we play in that is multi-sport and of course playing against fellow university alumni and flat mate Brendan Creed in the pool stages will also add something extra to the game!
What advice would you give a younger athlete in your sport?
Make the most of your training time and push yourself to improve whenever you can, but most importantly enjoy it, if you're not enjoying what you're doing what's the point in doing it!
