The Cycling Club is open to range of abilities, and covers several disciplines. The club mainly focuses on organising rides and events for Road (RD), Cross Country (XC) and Downhill (DH) cycling, but there are riders in the club involved in other styles of cycling, such as BMX and Cyclocross. Sheffield is one of the best cities in the UK to get out cycling, with the Peak District on the doorstep there are plenty of mountain bike trails, and the city also hosts some of the routes from the 2014 Tour De France Yorkshire Grand Depart.
The club run regular road and mountain bike rides throughout the year for all abilities, on Wednesday afternoons and at weekends. The club also run various trips throughout the year, including a mountain biking trip to wales and lift days for downhill bikers. More competitive cyclist can enter BUCS events, and other national and local competitions through the club.
To get involved simply register your interest here (link to online sign-up sheet) or at Sports Fair in September. Someone from the club will then give you details about how to get involved with the trips, events and weekly rides.
The club may run selection processes for competitive events such as BUCS and Varsity competitions
