Sheffield Hallam University Cycling Club (SHUCC) is a club that is open to cyclists of any ability and discipline, whether you are a complete novice or regular competitor. We have a strong community of riders across MTB and Road disciplines that arrange regular rides around their studies alongside official club rides which occur on a weekly basis throughout the academic year.
Besides the weekly club rides, we also have an annual riding trip to Wales that is open to all members of the club. The MTB riders will head to either antur stiniog, revolution bike park or up Snowdon while the Road riders will head out from the hostel to explore the surrounding terrain.
On the competitive side of the club, we enter a team in the BUCS competitions these include hill climb, road race and downhill. We welcome and support anyone who wishes to race in any other discipline or events. Club members are also eligible to race for Sheffield Hallam University Cycling Club in British Cycling affiliated races. Over the past year members have competed in circuit races, downhill, cross country, cyclocross and enduro.
Varsity, against The University of Sheffield is another highlight of the year with five events for club members to compete in and support their fellow team members.
Away from the bikes we have many social events throughout the year including themed nights out, non-bike related activities such as bowling or trampolining and chilled evenings watching films and races.
