What's on offer?
The Men's Rugby Union Club is a popular club at Hallam, with the 1st and 2nd teams competing in BUCS leagues with a development team. As a club we look to provide additional opportunities for developing players, including involvement in O2 touch rugby sessions amongst other things, held on weekly basis. The level of play is competitive, and the teams are usually selected through trials held at the start of the year, with a place for everyone regardless of ability.
The club benefit from a high standard of coaching, and also work with regional RFU staff to ensure all abilities can be catered for at Hallam. Weekly pitch training is run at Sheffield Hallam Sports Park on Bawtry Road on Monday evenings, and strength and conditioning training is run at Collegiate gym. Matches are typically on a Wednesday afternoon.
Joining Mens Rugby Union also gives you some of the best perks around for the more social player, with discounts and exclusive access to numerous Bars and Clubs in Sheffield due to the relationships we build with them.
As a result, Mens Rugby Union is a place where you can make friends for life, being a mixed, inclusive, and diverse team there is never a chance you will feel isolated during your time at university.
