Hello you fine specimens. As you know I’m Phil and I’m running for captain for the next year of rugby. You know I have been abroad but here’s what you don’t know about me.
The life of Philly:
I study languages with International business and for the last year and a half I have been jetting off to France and Spain to fulfil my dream of being an international big boi.
My experience:
This will be my 4th season playing for Hallam, alongside playing half a season with Sheffield Ladies and a full year of rugby out in Spain (I don’t think I’ve quite mentioned that one x) - my Spanish team plays in the same level of league as Sheffield Ladies. I play flanker but often switching to second row.
What’s more is that I already have experience on committee. In my second year, I had the honour of joining Steggy as social sec to make Wednesdays the best that they could be. Yes stegganie I see your @ you snake but the level of commitment I had organising Wednesdays and tour despite being abroad shows my love and enthusiasm.
Why me:
Here’s a list of why I WILL be the captain that can guide us to the best and the biggest of bois.
•Committed: as explained earlier, I go above to put my all into the things I love; and this team is something I hold dearly to my heart.
•Guidance: given that I not only have national experience but international experience too has given me the knowledge and skills to push us all as far as we can.
•Ability to understand people: I truly believe that a good captain doesn’t just learn how their team works but also how each individual player works too. My promise is to know and guide each player by adapting to their needs, wishes and ways of encouragement.
My aims:
•Fitness: lets start the season strong by focusing on our fitness as soon as preseason gets underway.
•Goals: continue creating 3 goals for the team each game and to also set more to work towards per half season.
•Set plays: learning and perfecting skilled work for both forwards and backs; I’d implement more classroom sessions and write them all down and post on the page so that players can memorise it well.
Thanks for reading - I know we’re all Hallam but hope it wasn’t too long. I hope you’re all ready to back me just as much as I’m ready to back you all.
