Candidate for the position of Captain

JOSEPH HAYWARD

The main improvement I would like to offer the club is the change to improve the image that we have as both executive committee and as a club as it defines us as a team when we play representing Poly. My ideas of where this club is going and what I can do to improve it and make it a better club only consists of a few things:

- The club has come a long way in the last season gone and with the impact of losing players the club has shown real resilience and I aim to continue this by increased training sessions to have them Sunday and either Monday or Friday (one skill session and one fitness session) so that we can train consistently and grow stronger as our team.

- I also believe in providing the club with new opportunities and equipment to be proud of, I want with the help of the treasuer and looking at the budget, to use the money earned and provided to purchase new stash and new kit to look like a true team, and putting money towards getting high-end coaches to give masterclass coaching sessions.

- A final point would be emphasising the praise of players through a player of the season, greatest try etc in end of season dinners or post-match clubhouse awards of player of the match etc which I would contribute towards for drinks or awards.

- I would also employ the role of vice-captain to the team's captains to have a second lead and aid the team captain with decisions and speaking to the referee.

I believe that the Hallam rugby team will only grow from strength to strength if we as a team work together and have the desire to show everyone what we can do as a club.
