The Women's Rugby Union Club is an open and welcoming club, suitable for all abilities, with one team competing regularly in the regional BUCS league. Women's rugby is a fast growing and unique sport, and the club is always looking for new players from all backgrounds, regardless of their level of skill and experience. The club committee work with regional RFU staff to ensure all abilities can be catered for at Hallam, even people who have never touched a rugby ball before. Weekly training sessions are run at Sheffield Hallam Sports Park on Bawtry Road on weekday evenings, and strength and conditioning training at Collegiate gym. Matches are typically on a Wednesday afternoon.
