Who are we?

The Women's Rugby Union Club is an open and welcoming club, suitable for all abilities, with one team competing regularly in the regional BUCS league (Northern Tier 3). Women's rugby is a fast-growing and unique sport, and the club is always looking for new players from all backgrounds, regardless of their level of skill and experience. The club committee work with regional RFU staff to ensure all abilities can be catered for at Hallam, even people who have never touched a rugby ball before. Hosting weekly social events, both within the team and with other Team Hallam clubs, it’s a great way to make new friends on campus while staying fit.

Freshers 2023

We have a variety of events to welcome new and returning players to Hallam WRFU this September! Pop along for preseason fitness, or speak to us at any of our welcome events to join ready for the 2023/4 season:

Preseason Training: Tues 12th & Mon 18th Sept (7pm - 8.30pm, Sports Park)

Sports Fair:                Weds 20th (10am - 4pm, HUBs)

Welcome Sessions: Saturday 23rd (12noon - 5pm, Sports Park)

                                   Sunday 24th (9am - 12.55pm, Sports Park)

Training Starts:         Mon 25th (7pm - 8.30pm)

Weekly training sessions are run at Sheffield Hallam Sports Park on Bawtry Road:

Monday: Training 7pm - 8:30pm @ Sheffield Hallam Sports Park

Wednesday: BUCS matches 

Weekly S&C sessions TBC!

There is a FREE shuttle bus that goes directly to the Sports Park.
