The Boxing Club is a mixed club for both men and women to box competitively or recreationally, so whether you want to get in the ring or just get fit, there are opportunities for all abilities. Regular box fit social sport sessions are run at Collegiate Campus for people new to the sport. Training sessions for competitive boxers are at Sharrow Old School on evenings and weekends. The club has a partnership with Sheffield City ABC boxing gym, which is run by head coach Brendan Warburton. The club enter several competitions and events throughout the year, including BUCS championships, Varsity competition and England Boxing series.

BoxFit is a low impact, high-energy workout that incorporates solid pad work, conditioning, functional and circuit training with an emphasis placed on boxing. Our sessions are delivered by our Student Sport Activators with help from the Sheffield City Amateur Boxing Club Coaches so you are sure to learn all the correct boxing techniques. These sessions are open to males and females and delivered in a friendly and fun way. So, if you want to learn some basic self-defence, relieve stress and burn calories then these sessions are perfect for you.
Sessions are £2.50 or free if you have a SHU-Active or Team Hallam membership. Just turn up on the day, or you can book in advance with our online booking system, or at SHU-Active reception. See our social sport timetable to find a session. For any questions email us.
To have a go at boxing competitively simply drop into one of Brendan's sessions at Sharrow Old School, no trials are held but people are selected for individual competitions based on their abilities.
