The Canoe Club is open to all abilities and runs a wide range of activities throughout the year, from indoor canoe polo training to white water trips in the UK and abroad. The club regularly train indoors at Kind Edward VII School pool in Sheffield, and outdoors at Manvers Lake. They run numerous trips on rivers, lakes and white water courses across the UK throughout the year, including an annual trip to Slovenia. The club also compete in BUCS and other inter-university competitions in Canoe Polo, White Water Races and Slalom Competitions. Equipment is available to borrow for beginners.
Opportunities are available through the club for students to gain qualifications such as river leading, white water safety, first aid and coaching badges.
The club does not hold trials and is open to everyone. To get involved simply register your interest here (link to online sign-up sheet) or at Sports Fair in September. Your first training session is free.
£40 annual membership, plus £1.50 per outdoor lake sessions and £2.00 per indoor pool session. Additional costs for trips.
