Why join?

The Climbing club is open to anyone, no matter the ability. Providing sessions for both complete beginners to competition climbers.

Why climb?

Climbing is excellent for both your mental and physical health. Additionally, it’s also a great way to meet new people in a laid back and welcoming environment.

We host two social sessions per week during term time, Monday's depot and Thursday's foundry 6-8pm. We also offer discounted intro and learn to lead sessions with the foundry. If you are interested, drop us an email for more information.

We also host socials (including sober ones!), fun competitions, and charity events with chances to win a wide range of prizes!

Climbing competitions

The performance team is selected at the start of each year and represent the university in NUBS (northern university bouldering series) and BUCS (British university championship series), which run throughout the academic year.

As part of the team you will be provided with a membership to the climbing works, weekly training sessions and entry to BUCS.

NUBS (Northern University Bouldering Series) is open to anyone attending the university no matter the ability level, with grades ranging from V0-V8. It’s a great way to get introduced to climbing competition and also to meet other climbers. For additional information on this drop us an email.

We are also hosting charity competitions this year - for more information about these follow our instagram account.
