The Men's Basketball Club have teams competing in BUCS Tiers 1,2 and 3, as well as a local Sheffield Basketball League. The level of play is competitive, and the teams are selected through trials held at the start of the year. The club also have great relationships with other local clubs that compete in the NBL on the weekends for those pursuing a more committed place within the Sheffield basketball scene. Weekly training sessions are run the EIS facility, Colliegate and City campus and matches are typically on a Wednesday afternoon (BUCS), Thursday or Friday (SBL). Regular social sport sessions are also run for less competitive and developing players.
For information on specific training schedules please contact the Hallam basketball instagram page.
Come and play basketball in a social setting. Most sessions will involve match play where our Student Sport Activators or Other Players will place you into equal teams. If you don’t know the rules or want to learn how to improve your performance, instruction can be provided upon request. Just bring a pair of trainers and get involved. These sessions focus on you getting as much court time as possible, so there's always a chance to learn and improve your game no matter what level you are at.
Sessions are £2.50 or free if you have a SHU-Active or Team Hallam membership. Just turn up on the day, or you can book in advance with our online booking system, or at SHU-Active reception.
