Who are SHUSNOW?

Sheffield Hallam University Snowsports Society, affectionately known as SHUSNOW, is a vibrant and dynamic community of snowsports enthusiasts. At SHUSNOW, we offer our members an exciting array of experiences throughout the year. Our two annual trips to snow-covered destinations are the stuff of dreams, featuring heavily discounted packages that make shredding the slopes more accessible than ever. But the fun doesn't stop there; every Monday, we host engaging social gatherings with a diverse range of themes and, of course, complimentary food to fuel the stoke. From bingo nights to exciting giveaways, our events calendar is always buzzing. We also provide discounted ski lessons at Snozone, ensuring our members have the skills they need to conquer the mountains.

Lessons and Competitions 

SHUSNOW is defined by thrilling competitions that push our members to their limits. Four times a year, we eagerly participate in the fiercely competitive "Kings" event, where our snow warriors showcase their skills, determination, and teamwork on the slopes. In addition to the internal battles, we engage in head-to-head showdowns against the University of Sheffield in the highly anticipated Varity competition, creating a spirited rivalry that fuels our passion for snowsports. And for the most dedicated racers and freestylers among us, there's nothing quite like the extraordinary AfterJam event held in Gloucestershire. This remarkable gathering brings together racers and freestyle enthusiasts from far and wide, promising an adrenaline-fueled experience like no other.

That's why we're proud to offer exclusive ski lessons at Snozone in Castleford, catering to both skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Our expert instructors provide a safe and supportive environment for all skill levels, helping beginners carve their first tracks and refining the techniques of more experienced riders. It's not just about learning; it's about honing your skills, gaining confidence, and embracing the thrill of snowsports. Trips

we organise two thrilling annual ski trips each year. The first one takes place in January and is exclusively for Shusnow members. This trip offers a wonderful opportunity for members to bond and share their passion for skiing in a fun and supportive environment. It's a truly special experience, where friendships are forged on the slopes and memories are made that last a lifetime. The second trip, known as Ashes 2 Alps (A2A), takes place around the Easter break and is open to students from the University of Sheffield and Hallam. A2A is an incredible week-long skiing extravaganza that brings together students from both universities for an unforgettable adventure on the snowy slopes. With breathtaking alpine scenery as their backdrop, participants can indulge in their love for skiing, improve their skills, and create lifelong friendships with fellow students who share the same passion. Both of these ski trips organized by Shusnow exemplify the organization's commitment to providing incredible experiences for skiers of all levels.
