The Women's Football Club has 3 teams competing in BUCS leagues and a Futsal team also competing in BUCS. The level of play is competitive and the teams are selected through trials held at the start of the year. The club runs in partnership with (TBC), giving players access to high quality coaching and opportunities to play locally. Weekly training sessions are run at Sports Park on Bawtry Road on Monday evenings, and matches are typically on a Wednesday afternoon.
There is also a club Development Squad, for improving players and people who want to play recreationally. Regular social sport sessions are also run indoors at Collegiate Campus for people who just want a kick-about.
Just play football in a fun and relaxing, women's only session. There's no work for you to sort players to make up teams. Simply turn up and let our Student Sport Activators match you into equal teams. These sessions are focused on giving you as much playing time as possible, usually in small sided games. If you don’t know the rules or want to learn how to improve your performance, instruction can be provided upon request. These sessions take place indoors at our Collegiate Sportshall so bring your trainers and get involved.
Sessions are £2.50 or free if you have a SHU-Active or Team Hallam membership. Just turn up on the day, or you can book in advance with our online booking system, or at SHU-Active reception. See our social sport timetable to find a session. For any questions email us.
Register your interest here (link to online sign-up sheet) or at Sports Fair in September to attend trials. Teams will be selected by early October.
No need to sign up in advance, simply drop in to one of the Social Sport sessions for £2.50 a time, all equipment is provided
